Every client is important to us.
The implementation of technical measures on diesel engines not only concerns the engine, but many more factors.
It concerns every client separately.
We have successfully applied technical measures to hundreds of thousands of Volkswagen vehicles to date.
But we do not stop there. We continue to carry out tests and implement checks. Moreover, our technical measures have been approved by the Federal German Motor Vehicle Transport Authority (KBA) following intensive tests. This means that we can now apply the technical measures on each affected diesel engine in Cyprus.
All Volkswagen Group owners, whose cars haven’t had the technical measures yet, will soon be informed in writing.
We thank you for your patience and loyalty to the Volkswagen Group.
With the Trust Building Measure, Volkswagen informs its clients that it will examine any complaints that arose as a result of the implementation of the technical measure on diesel engines type EA 189 and which relate to some spare parts of the engine and the fuel processing system. The Trust Building Measure shall last for 24 months from the time that the vehicle concerned underwent the technical measure and only in the case of vehicles with less than 250000 travelled km at the time of implementation of the Trust Building Measure (whichever comes first).

With the Trust Building Measure, Volkswagen sends a clear message that the upgrade has no negative consequences to the life of the vehicle. The purpose of this measure is to enhance client’s trust in the applicable technical measure and encourage more clients to upgrade their vehicles.
Clients will soon receive detailed information in relation to the terms and the extent of the Trust Building Measures by all authorised dealers and authorised workshops regarding their brands.
The Trust Building Measure concerns all Volkswagen, Audi, Seat, Skoda and Volkswagen professional vehicles with diesel engines type EA 189 on which the technical measure was applied.
The Technical Building Measure will be offered to all Volkswagen clients whose vehicles have a diesel engine type EA 189 and which are subjected to an upgrade within the framework of technical measure Service 23R7, in relation to the Diesel issue. It only concerns vehicles with less than 250000 KM travelled distance at the time of implementation of the Trust Building Measure.
To benefit from this provision, clients must furnish evidence that they carried out all recommended service and maintenance works of the manufacturer (in other words it concerns vehicles with a full service history).
The Trust Building Measure also concerns clients on whose cars the technical measure has been implemented from the date on which it was implemented (provided that all other requirements concerning the Trust Building Measure are complied with). The Trust Building Measure is connected to the vehicle identification measure and it extends to the new vehicle owner, if the vehicle is sold within the 24 month period covered by the implementation criteria. The Trust Building Measures apply worldwide with the exception of the United States, Canada and South Korea where different regulations apply.
The Trust Building Measure covers a total of 11 spare parts within the fuel recirculation system, the fuel spraying system and the fuel reprocessing system: lambda probe, temperature sensor, fuel recirculation valve, differential pressure sensor of the fuel recirculation, injector, high pressure pipe, fuel rail, pressure regulation valve, pressure sensor, high pressure pipes.
The Trust Building Measure does not affect the opinion of Volkswagen that the technical measures have no negative consequences on the life of the engine and its spare parts. The supervisory authorities have assured that the technical measures fulfil all legal requirements and that they have no negative consequences on the fuel consumption date, the CO2 emission date, the engine power, the torque and the noise emissions.
